Working on Frankenpup v0.3.1337 AND frankenpup 64bits

Well, i will start working on the new frankenpup version ( v0.3.1337 ) with some updates and bugfixes, also will include some nice things (mostly for netbooks and eeepc), and a 64bits version with 32bits compatibility out the box and the frankenpup features (yeah, no office software out the box). That's all.

ZOMFG! frankenpup-v0.2.1337!!

LINKS ON THE BOTTOM

v0.2.1337 just kicked in YO!
pretty much a fixes/upgrades release, nothing "AWESOME" to see, for the next release i will try some *interesting* stuffs, like hibernation (a.k.a suspend to disk), cpu freq scaling, and a new Xorg build (that's why i installed the libX*, let's call it anticipation) with direct rendering and hardware acceleration for intel cards (that would be nice isn't?), also the kernel was compiled in frankenpup8 (first of the family with gcc 4.5.2 and my personal "test" build), or in other words: it was compiled with the packed version of gcc so compiling kernel modules shouldn't be that hard.

List of upgrades:

alsa-lib-1.0.24.1
alsa-oss-1.0.17
alsa-utils-1.0.24.2
cairo-1.10.2

Frankenpup en español: ya tengo casi todo el sistema base completamente traducido, me falta el script: xorgwizard, el script de arranque de sistema y uno que otro scrip en el initrd.gz.

That's all for now.

0.2.1337 Preview

Little preview of the first REALLY stable and working version of frankenpup 0.2.1337, ihaven't changed the DISTRO_SPECS yet, but mot errors and warning have been fixed, so... KUDOS FOR ME.

will upload it in about 10 hours, gotta commit some change to the sfs and will change the icons and wallpaper.

samedog out.

proud to be stupid

IT TOOK ME 2 DAYS TO FIGURE OUT I WAS MISSING AUFS ON THE 2.6.37.6 KERNEL SO THAT WAS THE REASON I CULDN'T MAKE IT RUN AS FRUGAL.

I'M PATCHING IT RIGHT NOW.
FUCK, I WENT FULL RETARDED.

Samedog out

Delayed 3 days

Hello strange people, as the tittle says i need 3 more days to test more indeep the 2 "maybe new" kernels, since 2.6.35.7 has some problems with my touchpad and sometimes gives me no sound (frugal) and 2.6.37.6 works just awesome but i gotta patch some stuffs i need more days, also glibc will stay as 2.13 and gcc as 4.5.2.
Currently i'm recompiling more stuffs, finally get rid of almost all the "no version information avaiable" warnings and i'm testing some interesting wary features (current realease) maybe will use that as base for the 0.3 version.

De frankenpup en español no tengo mucho que decir, traducir todos los scripts me va a tomar un tiempo, tal vez una semana o dos, pero trabajo lo mas rápido que puedo.

Some fixes for the new release

I have been fixing some slcakware/wary libs compatibility issues, mostly of them warnings in compile-time (due to the difference of versions between slack and wary) so far i have recompiled:

zlib (same version)
binutils (downgraded to stable realease)
gcc (upgraded to 4.5.3 [testing])
glibc (upgraded to 2.14 [testing])
kernel (upgraded to 2.6.35.7 > testing 2.6.37.6)

That's all.

Frankenpup-0.2.1337 is comming!!

Hello special and truly loved people, short story: i made some upgrades and will release another version, this one features a new kernel (2.6.35.7) and python got removed untill i fix the infamous module installation problem, also ugraded Perl to 5.12.3 and will keep upgrading some other stuffs SLOWLY. The next release will be in 3 or 4 days, oh i'm working on kde4 again, will try to compile 4.5 and 4.6 if everything goes fine i will upload a .sfs OR .txz package (yeah i went pretentious FULL FORCE).

That's all for now

Some frankenpup stuff

Ok quick explanation i missed:

>To install a slackware 13.37 package you MUST download the package, after that just click on it.
>To uninstall go to /var/log/packages find the package you wanna uninstall and type "removepkg package-name.x.x.x" on a terminal (without the "") or you can set a run action it's faster.

That's all

OMFG!!!! Frankenpup v0.1.1337 is here!

Disclaimer:
"Frankenpup it's a personal wary+slackaware build (first one was with puppy-4.00 and slackware-12) the main reason to build it was because puppy was good, but it could evolve into something REALLY GOOD if you mix it with slackware(problem?).
Frankenpup follows some really personal vision of how an OS must be so is way far away from Windows or Ubuntu or anything "click&magic": it doesn't have a package manager, it doesn't have a way to resolve dependencies, all has to be done by the user, so, in other words: IF YOU ARE AN UBUNTU LOVER, A LINUX NEWBIE OR HAVE ANY CARDIOVASCULAR DISEASE FRANKENPUP WILL BE A REAL PAIN IN THE ASS FOR YOU.
But if you like challenges i can't stop you from downloading it."

Now the real deal:

Well, after 2 long days of work, resolving dependencies, modding the init scripts and updating libs i'm REALLY happy to anounce:

Frankenpup-v0.1.1337

This is gonna be the first beta of the 0.1.X series, featuring some really basic stuffs and environment, for now fluxbox is the default wm.

Features:

Glibc 2.13
Linux Kernel 2.6.34.1
gcc 4.5.2 (yes, compiler out of the box)
Python 2.6.2 (dunno, maybe i will remove or uplgrade it)
Perl v5.10.0 (same as pyton)
util-linux 2.19
ConsoleKit 0.4.3
gtk+-1.2.10
gtk+2-2.24.4

Also installed core-utils, so i'm working to remove busybox (step by step) , gonna test the kernels from slackware repos too and will update some other exciting stufs and more (More info later on my website).
